
Triton acquires SB Seating for NOK 1.9bn
Triton has purchased Scandinavian Business Seating (SB Seating) from previous backers Ratos in a deal that values the company at NOK 1.925bn.
Triton invested via Triton IV, which closed on €3.3bn in May last year. The fresh capital will be used to support the company's geographical expansion beyond Europe into Asia.
The transaction sees Ratos receive NOK 955m for its holding in the company, generating a net gain of SEK 240m and an IRR of 14%.
Previous investment
SB Seating was formed through Ratos's acquisition of HÅG, RH and RBM in 2007, with a total investment of SEK 747m. With Ratos's support, the company has increased its EBITDA margin from 13% of sales in 2006 to 21% in 2013. The listed private equity house also supported two refinancings in 2011 and 2013, totalling SEK 708m.

In 2013, SB Seating generated sales of NOK 1bn, with EBITDA coming in at NOK 201m. The company employs 460 people and operates production sites in Sweden and Norway.
