Vækstfonden invests DKK 25m in Forida
Vækstfonden and a number of private investors have injected DKK 25m into Danish windmill tower manufacturer Forida.
With fresh capital from the Danish growth fund, Forida will focus on making its product commercially viable, while the investment round will also help Forida break into the market for tall windmill towers.
The company expects its first deliveries to be completed in H2 of 2015.
Company
Founded in 2009, Forida has developed a hybrid wind turbine tower made with ultra-high-performance concrete, which allows the company to build taller towers than is commonplace.
The company's products are aimed at wind turbine installations where towers of 110 metres or more are called for.
Hjallerup-based Forida claims its product can reduce manufacturing, transport and installation costs, resulting in cheaper energy from the turbines.
People
Stig Poulsen is a partner and regional director for Vækstfonden. Jan Karlsen is the CEO of Forida.
