Accent's Hoist Technology in bolt-on
Accent Equity Partners portfolio company Hoist Technology has agreed to merge with French hotel and healthcare IT solutions supplier Locatel.
The merged entity will take the name HoistLocatel. The group will aim to increase its product offering as well as establish itself in the Middle East.
The two companies initiated a business alliance in 2012 and the merger project took form from that point. The new hospitality entity will aim to service independently operated hotels as well as hotel chains. Hoist is a supplier for hotels in the two- to four-star range, while Locatel is catering to the four- to five-star segment.
Accent has been active recently with two exits – Hööks and Autotube – and two incoming investments, gift wrapping company Eurowrap in February and trailer business Brenderup Group last week.
Company
Headquartered in Stockholm, HoistLocatel will cover 14 countries in Europe and the Middle East, as well as several other markets either directly or via distributors. HoistLocatel will offer a range of IT services, hosting, systems solutions and products. The group's main customers are in the hospitality industry but HoistLocatel will also provide IT solutions for the healthcare sector and public organisations.
People
Malcolm Lindblom, currently the CEO of Hoist, will become the group's CEO. Pierre Lestage, the CEO of Locatel, will continue as senior adviser to HoistLocatel and remain on the board to ensure continuity.
