Talde in strategic Portuguese alliance
Spain's oldest private equity group Talde plans to invest some e15m in holdings in new businesses, as part of its strategy to diversify its investments in different regions and sectors. At present, Talde has stakes in companies based in Vizcaya, Alava, Guipúzcoa, Zaragoza, Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Asturias and Córdoba. As part of its strategic plan, the venture capital group is looking very seriously into the possibility of moving into the Portuguese market. Under the terms of a recent agreement with two Portuguese partners - Souto & Viana and Vasconcellos e Sá Asociados - the group is now on the lookout for businesses opportunities over the border. Talde is currently completing the launch of a new €60m venture capital fund, in which several industrial businesses and financial houses will be involved. For the first time, pension funds will also be taking part. Once the new fund is up and running, Talde will be managing a total of e135m.
