AIFI elects new chairman
The Italian venture capital association has elected Claudio Dematté as its new chairman. Dematté will replace Marco Vitale, who has held the chair since the inception of AIFI in 1986. A business economics graduate of Bocconi University, Claudio Dematté also studied at Harvard Business School, and is currently chairman of E-Capital Partners and Banca di Trento e Bolzano. He is also vice chairman of Telefono Azzurro. AIFI has also appointed a new board of directors to coincide with the election of the chairman: Mario Carlo Ferrario (Finlombarda Gestioni), Fabio Sattin (Private Equity Partners), Stefano Scarpis (Alto Partners), Gian Maurizio Argenziano (ABN AMRO Capital), Franco Asquini (Friulia), Giorgio Gandini (Vestar Capital Partners Italia), Giorgio Cirla (Interbanca), Enrico de Cecco (MCC-Sofipa), Matteo Carlotti (Argos Soditic), Gabriele Cappellini (MPS Venture), Edoardo Lecaldano (Alice Ventures), Carlo Mammola (BA Capital Advisors), Sergio Sambonet (3i), and Andrea Negri (Advent International).
