Talde backs business innovation
Talde has signed an agreement with innovation and business development centre CIDEM (backed by the government of Catalonia’s Department of Industry) to promote new technology-based businesses in Catalonia. The agreement has been signed by the regional government’s industry executive Antoni Gurguà and Talde chairman José MarÃa Zalbidegoitia and two other venture capital firms, BCN Emprèn in Barcelona and Najeti España in Madrid. Under the terms of the agreement, CIDEM is to provide three venture capital firms with information concerning technology-based business projects, which are in need of financing. CIDEM will also facilitate contacts with entrepreneurs, in keeping with pre-established selection criteria. In return, Talde, BCN Emprèn and Najeti España have undertaken to provide development capital to these companies and to take charge of the implementation, launch and subsequent monitoring of their business projects. This initiative, originally promoted by the regional government of Catalonia, works through a service known as Innovation Financing, which establishes the ways and means of providing support to companies in the initial stages of development. Besides facilitating project-financing instruments, the service also provides the new firms with guidance in the preparation of strategic business plans and sound management advice. The Talde group recently celebrated its twenty-fifth anniversary and currently manages funds of Eur70m.
