Qualitas Fund I holds first close
It has been reported that Qualitas Fund I, advised by Spanish private equity firm Qualitas Equity Partners, has held a first closing on Euro30m. The vehicle has a target of Euro60m and is expected to reach final closing within 12 months. According to press reports, the fund will invest between Euro2-12m in Spanish companies, which must have a minimum turnover of Euro4m. According to published sources, the preferred strategy is buy and build with the aim of expanding the investee companies’ operations within Spain and abroad. Timón, a major shareholder of the Grupo Prisa, is said to be the primary investor in the fund.
