Acanthus Advisers

The placement agent Acanthus Advisers has appointed Ian Burgess as a full-time member of staff. Burgess had spent a year working for the firm in the capacity of a consultant, and previously spent 11 years in equity research at BZW Securities and CSFB. He will specialise in research, analysis and due diligence at Acanthus, which recently appointed Laurent de Rosière to its fundraising team. The firm, which was founded in 1998 by Armando d’Amico, is currently managing fundraising for the Natexis Cape small-cap buyout fund, as well as the French mid-market fund Pragma Capital.
