UBS Warburg has announced the appointment of Francisco Sánchez-AsiaÃn to the position of managing director and head of Spanish corporate finance. Sánchez-AsiaÃn joins the firm from Merrill Lynch, where he was managing director of investment banking at the institution’s London headquarters and country manager and head of investment banking for Iberia. Prior to Merrill Lynch, he worked as an executive director within the M&A division of Goldman Sachs. Sánchez-AsiaÃn replaces Jorge Calvet, who left earlier this year to become bank manager of Fortis Bank in Iberia.
