Telecom Italia Mobile & TI Lab sign agreement with Finnish Eqvitec
It has been reported that Telecom Italia Mobile (TIM), the Telecom Italia spin-off, and its technology innovation unit TI Lab have signed an agreement with Finnish venture capital company Eqvitec Partners. According to this agreement, TIM and TI Lab will exploit the wireless technologies being developed by Eqvitec portfolio companies in Finland, and the latter will benefit from TIM and TI Lab’s experience in the telecoms sectors and its customer base in Europe and South America. It is said that this agreement is part of a wider strategy for TIM and TI Lab to create closer relations with companies that promote technological innovation in order to guarantee rapid access to new technologies, applications and contents. According to published sources, TIM is pursuing similar agreements in other centres of technological development in Europe, the US, the Far East and the Middle East.
