Charme invests in Cassina
Charme Investments, the E150m private equity fund sponsored by Luca Cordero di Montezemolo and headed by his son Matteo, has acquired 100% of Cassina from the French multinational Fimalac and the Cassina family. Cassina was acquired via the portfolio company Poltrona Frau for an undisclosed amount. With an annual turnover of E120m, Cassina is a leading name in modern and contemporary furniture design. Since Charme acquired the furniture designer Poltrona Frau, the company has invested in three other similar firms, namely Thonet, Cappellini and Gufram. Last year Charme's fund also purchased 100% of the Ballantyne brand, famed for its cashmere and previously owned by Dawson International Plc.
