Möbius to target smaller companies
Juan Soto, the ex-president of Hewlett Packard and José Luis Cayuela, ex-vice-president of Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, have set up a private equity firm called Möbius, which will manage E50m via the fund Möbius Investments. The firm plans to invest in small- to medium-sized profitable businesses which fly under the radar of the larger private equity firms, investing up to E6m in each company. However, Möbius will also consider investments of as little as E300,000 in small businesses which it sees as attractive. Möbius's team comprises professionals from the fields of consulting, law and finance, and offers advisory services as well as private equity capital. The company intends to take stakes of between 30% and 40% in companies operating principally in the sectors of industry and energy, media and content, healthcare, leisure, sport and the environment.
