Ashursts
Ashursts has appointed Steven Fox to be managing partners of its Madrid office. Fox will be replacing Duncan Stiles with effect from 13 October, and is a corporate finance lawyer with experience in the fields of cross-border M&A and equity capital markets. Ashursts has also concurrently recruited three new lawyers to the Madrid office. Juan Hormaechea, a structured finance lawyer, has joined the firm from JP Morgan Securities to advise Spanish and UK banks. Eduardo Gracia has been appointed by a partner to build on Ashursts’ existing domestic corporate practice by establishing a new tax department. Gracia previously worked for the law firm Garrigues, and will shortly be joined by a tax assistant. Ashursts’ Madrid office, which was set up in January 2001, now has 21 lawyers and five partners.
