Lovells to open in Madrid
Lovells has appointed the corporate lawyer José MarÃa Balañá to open a full-service office in Madrid. Balañá, who will be managing partner of the new office, was previously a partner at the Madrid office of Cuatrecasas, where he specialised in M&A work. The Madrid branch, which will open in the autumn, will offer business law advice to domestic and international clients. Lovells already has an office in Alicante, which advises on community trademarks, a legacy of the January 2000 merger with Germany's Boesebeck Droste.
