Clave Mayor sets up E12m farming and food fund
Clave Mayor has raised a E12m fund to invest exclusively in the farming and food sectors. The launch of Punto Futuro took place in Navarra and is backed by the government of Navarra and the bank Caja Navarra, each of which provided 25% of the funds resources. Local investors put forward the remaining 50%. Although it has only just been publicly launched, the fund has already invested 40% of its E12m total. Its investments include Casa Eceiza (food producer), Bionostra and Bioalma (biotechnology) and Mizanor (food producer). The fund has a lifespan of 10 years with a possible extension of two years, although most of the return is expected in the first seven years. The fund will take either minority or majority positions and aims to invest in companies with strong growth potential.
