Cea Capital Partners aims for 250m Euro fund

According to recent press reports, CEA Capital Partners, the private equity affiliate of US investment bank Communications Equity Associates (CEA), has begun to seek commitments for its ninth fund. It is thought that the fund will mainly invest in the technology, media and telecommunications sectors in Spain, Germany, and France. CEA Private Equity Partners Fund IX has a target of around B250m; it is already thought to have secured one commitment from a German institution and is expected to look to US investors for around half of the projected total volume.

Like previous vehicles raised by CEA, CEA Private Equity Partners Fund IX is likely to focus on telecommunications and network services in areas that include fixed line, fixed wireless, mobile wireless and satellite companies. A first closing is expected towards the end of this year, with a final closing to be held around six months later.
