La Caixa launches private equity fund
Catalan savings bank La Caixa has launched its first private equity fund, Caixa Capital Desarrollo SCR, with Eur150m in funds under management. This new vehicle marks the second step in La Caixa’s plan to set up a private equity arm following the establishment of the management company, Caixa Capital Risc, last March. The fund, which will be managed by Caixa Capital Risc, is headed by Marcelino Armenter, chief executive of CaixaHolding, Antoni Brufau, director general of the La Caixa group, Antoni Massanell, Fernando RamÃrez, Joaquim Vilar, Manuel Menéndez, director general of InverCaixa, and Francisco Ruiz Armengol.
