Claudio Dematte’ private equity award launched
The purpose of the Award is to acknowledge those particular operations which, having carried out the relevant disinvestment during the last year, distinguished themselves in the private equity arena in one of the following categories: early-stage, expansion and buyout. The aim of the Award is to highlight the many advantages, in terms of development and results, that even investors would automatically derive from a high performance. Our initiative does not only mean to reward operators, but wishes to put the limelight - in particular - on targets and results achieved by the operator-enterprise partnership.
Nominees will be judged by professionals from the economic, entrepreneurial and academic milieu. The members of the 2004 jury are the following: Giampio Bracchi (president of AIFI), Diana Bracco (president and managing director of the Bracco Group), Salvatore Bragantini (economist), Gianni Gambarotta (editor of Il Mondo), Guido Gentili (editor of Il Sole 24 Ore), Gian Maria Gros Pietro (president of Autostrade per l’Italia), Franco Carlo Papa (president of Ernst & Young Financial Business Advisors), Andrea Pininfarina (managing director of Pininfarina Spa), Umberto Rosa (president and managing director of Snia Spa), Carlo Secchi (chancellor of the Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi), Giorgio Squinzi (president of Mapei).
The amount of the Award, the final ceremony of which will be held at Palazzo Mezzanotte in Milan on Thursday 4 November 2004, will be assigned to Telefono Azzurro to finance the “Progetto Bambini e Carcere†(i.e., “Children and Prison Projectâ€) for the support of children of prison inmates of the San Vittore District Penal Institution in Milan. Participation in the event is free of charge and the deadline for filing applications is 30 September 2004.
