Cuatrecasas
The law firm Cuatrecasas has hired José MarÃa Garrido, a professor of corporate law at the University of Castilla-La Mancha, and until recently secretary of the Spanish Securities and Exchange Commission Council. Garrido is a recognised authority on corporate governance, and was a member of the high-level 'Winter Group' of company law experts set up by the European Commission. He was also secretary of the 'Aldama Commission' to promote transparency and safety on securities markets and is currently a member of the European Corporate Governance Forum. He holds a bachelor of laws from the University of Alcalá de Henares, a master of laws in corporate and commercial law from the University of London, and a doctorate in corporate law from the University of Bologna.
