Ibersuizas negotiates acquisition of FCC stake
Inversiones Ibersuizas is thought to be in the final stages of negotiating the acquisition of a minority stake in the construction group FCC. The private equity firm is joining forces with Esther Koplowitz to acquire the 25.7% stake, which is valued at €300m, is currently held by French firm Veolia. The sale of the stake is dependent on the possible involvement of other investors and on Veolia’s acceptance of the offer price. Under the terms of the acquisitions, Ibersuizas would acquire a 16% stake in B-1998, the holding company that owns 52.6% of FCC, which in turn would accord it indirect control of an 8% stake in the construction firm. This 8% stake would, at the very least, give Ibersuizas a seat on the board of FCC.
