Unirisco to set up university fund
Santiago de Compostela-based venture capital investor Unirisco Galicia has announced the creation of a university venture fund, to be known as Uninvest Fondo I+D. The fund will finance technology-based companies in the Spanish university sector, and has a target of between €9m and €12m. Fifteen Spanish universities have already expressed an interest in the new fund, as well as business and financial companies. Unirisco Galicia is backed by numerous regional investors, including Inditex, Banco Pastor, Caixa Galicia, Banco Português de Investimento and Caixanova.
