DLA acquires Madrid practice
As part of a firm-wide business review, Stephenson Harwood has agreed the acquisition of its 32-strong Madrid practice by international law firm DLA. The Madrid office, which comprises five partners and 18 lawyers, is set to become DLA on 31 October 2001. The managing partner of Stephenson Harwood’s Madrid office, Kenneth Bonavia, a corporate lawyer, will continue to manage the office for DLA once the acquisition is complete. It is expected that all other partners, lawyers and staff will similarly become part of DLA’s Madrid office on 31 October. The firm already has close links with Barcelona law firm Brugueras GarcÃa-Bragado Molinero y Asociados, who are also founding members of the exclusive alliance D&P.
