Coller Capital in possible acquisition of Marco Polo fund
Coller Capital, the global investor in private equity secondaries, is finalising the acquisition of funds belonging to Marco Polo Investments, according to ASCRI. Marco Polo Investments, a Spanish fund specialising in technology, media and telecommunications, was created during the internet boom and includes investors such as Caja Madrid, El Corte Inglés, Unión Fenosa and Indra amongst others. Marco Polo's funds are worth around E100m, and their purchase by Coller Capital is dependant on Coller acquiring a majority stake (above 60%) along with the agreement of the current shareholders. Unión Fenosa and Indra are two of the groups that are expected to take advantage of the entrance of Coller Capital to sell their stakes in the fund.
