New Spanish private equity firm
The Spanish savings bank La Caixa is to set up a new private equity firm called Gestora de Finanzas para Emprendedores, which will initially have a working capital of €10m. The investment entity will focus on small entrepreneurial and innovative projects, and is seeking to colloborate with universities, public institutions and private bodies. La Caixa is already active in the field through Caixa Capital Desarrollo, which acquires stakes in larger, established companies.
