Ardian opens new Madrid office
Global GP Ardian has bolstered its European presence with the opening of a new office in Madrid.
The Madrid office will at first be home to two teams, including the infrastructure arm, led by managing director Juan Angoitia; and the mid-cap buyout team, led by managing director Gonzalo Fernandez-Albiñana.
While Ardian has yet to do a buyout in Spain, it has already completed several infrastructure investments, deploying a total of €900m. Deals include toll road Trados 45 as well as oil storage business Compañia Logistica de Hidrocarburos.
Meanwhile, the buyout team will target independent and family-owned companies as well as spin-off business units from large firms valued at up to €1.5bn, according to Ardian. The GP added that it sees growing investment opportunities in Iberia, which led to the decision to open a local office.
Ardian operates 11 offices worldwide, with the list now comprising Paris, London, Frankfurt, Milan, Madrid, Zurich, New York, Beijing, Singapore, Jersey and Luxembourg.
