Moleskine to list this month
Notebook and diary brand Moleskine, owned by Italian GP Syntegra, will list on the Milan stock exchange this month.
Despite current political instability, which has shaken international markets, the GP has decided to proceed with the listing. "Moleskine carries an Italian passport but is a truly global business with a presence in 92 countries," Syntegra partner Marco Ariello told unquote".
Since Syntegra acquired a 75% stake in the company for around €60m in 2006, with the support of a senior debt package from Interbanca, sales have grown from €20.8m to hit €66.7m in 2011. EBITDA has gone from €8m to €29.1m in the same period.
Hoping to raise at least €300m, the Moleskine float is one of the most hotly anticipated events in Italian private equity.
