Candover "to exit Technogym"
Candover Investments looks likely to exit Italian equipment maker Technogym via a management buy-back to company founder Nerio Alessandri, according to reports.
The private equity house acquired its 40% stake in the firm in July 2008, investing alongside Alessandri and the management team, which retained the majority balance.
A clause in the original contract specifies that Alessandri may buy back the share he sold two years ago before it is offered to a third party, according to Il Sole 24 Ore.
A Candover Investments spokesperson denied the reports.
The firm announced in January that it would be returning money from the sale of its portfolio companies to shareholders and retreating from private equity in the ensuing months due to the strain of the recession.
