Atomico invests €10m in FON
Early-stage technology investor Atomico has invested 10m in wifi telecommunications firm FON.
The funding will allow the Spanish-based company to continue the expansion of its technology into the US, having successfully gained market share in Europe and Asia.
Based in Alcobendas, Madrid, FON has received backing from Atomico since it was founded in 2005 by CEO Martin Varsavsky.
The venture capital firm's partners include Skype and Kazaa founder Niklas Zennström.
