Merrill and Mercapital make Vital Dent offer
Merrill Lynch and Mercapital are reported to have made a EUR500m joint-bid to acquire dental services provider Vital Dent. PAI Partners, Permira and 3i are also thought to be interested in making an offer for the business.
Vital Dent has 430 clinics, with the majority being franchised, and has a presence in Italy, the US and Portugal. The company's sales in 2007 were around EUR470m, with an EBITDA of approximately EUR50m. The sales process is being led by Swiss investment bank UBS.
