CVC strengthens Italian team
CVC has hired former Cinven principal Andrea Ferrante as a partner in the Milan office.
Bucking the recent trend that has seen several players shut up shop in Italy, CVC appears to be strengthening its Italian team, led by Giampiero Mazza.
The new hire joins from Cinven, where he was a principal and spent six years in Milan, Hong Kong and London. He has also worked in the investment banking division of Lehman Brothers, where he was focused on companies in the retail and consumer sectors.
In line with his experience, he will continue to focus on opportunities in the industrial and consumer goods sectors.
Ferrante worked on Cinven's acquisition and later divestment of Avio's aviation unit to General Electric. The asset also attracted the eye of CVC, before the owners opted to sell to a trade player for €3.3bn.
Notable deals for CVC in Italy include the acquisition of Cerved from Bain Capital and Clessidra and the restructuring of Seat Pagine Gialle.
