Apax, CVC, Carlyle and Trilantic bid for Euskaltel
Apax Partners, CVC Capital Partners, Carlyle and Trilantic are the final four bidders for 49% of Spanish telecommunications company Euskaltel, according to reports in the Spanish press.
Final offers for the firm are expected by the end of the month and will value the company at around €800m.
The Basque Country's Tribunal Superior de Justicia del País Vasco recently ratified a ruling by a Paris court demanding that Euskaltel pay Orange España €222m in damages following a long-running dispute regarding a joint venture. Euskaltel, currently owned by Kutxabank, is thought to be looking for private equity funding to help with repayments.
