Stirling Square exits Microtecnica via trade sale
Pan-European private equity firm Stirling Square Capital Partners has sold its portfolio company Microtecnica to security systems supplier Goodrich Corporation.
The exit follows a holding period of three years in which the company's turnover grew by 27% and its profits trebled.
Stefano Bonfiglio, partner at Stirling Square, and his former colleague, Martin Calderbank, led the management buyout of Microtecnica in July 2008. The company was purchased from Hamilton Sundstrand, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp, in a deal believed to range between €100-125m.
