Candover extends Spanish reach with new Madrid arm
Candover has expanded its presence in Spain by opening a second office in Madrid just months after opening its first office in July 2007. The investment profile will be the same as that applied across Europe.
Candover's presence in Spain started in 2002, but it was not until November 2005 that the firm carried out its first Spanish transaction, a minority stake in cable company ONO.
Javier Abad, director of Candover Partners and its head in Spain, recently led Candover's investment in Parques Reunidos. Also part of the team is non-executive chairman Alejandro von der Pahlen. Von der Pahlen has more than 20 years' experience as a senior corporate financier with Lehman Brothers, Credit Lyonnais and more recently Andersen Corporate Finance.
The new offices are at:
Jorge Juan 15-1 degs Izq
28001 Madrid, Spain

Fax: +34 914 357 043.
