Russian operator ICON invests in AriaDSL
According to reports, a consortium led by Russian ICON Private Equity and Goldman Sachs has acquired a majority stake in telecommunications company AriaDSL, in a deal valued at EUR100m.
Earlier this year AriaDSL, which holds WiMAX licences to operate across Italy, signed a collaboration agreement with BT Italy that will see the company provide BT with wireless services to enhance it's offering of corporate telecoms solutions, while BT will help AriaDSL to develop its network and customer offerings. The investor declined to comment at this time; more information should follow in the next issue.
