Spanish VC association appoints new president
Maite Ballester will become president of the Spanish Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (Ascri) until an election for a permanent candidate is held.
Currently vice-president of the organisation, Ballester is a partner and managing director of 3i in Spain.
The temporary appointment follows the resignation of Ramón Cerdeiras, who recently departed from Ibersuizas. Formerly a managing partner at the private equity firm, he resigned due to internal disagreements about the management of Ibersuizas' scheduled third fund.
A replacement for Cerdeiras will be elected at the next meeting of Ascri's executive board.
