
Portugal Ventures opens Berlin office
Portugal Ventures has opened its fourth international office in Berlin’s Betahaus, a shared space for start-ups.
The new office is intended to help showcase Portuguese start-ups to the German venture capital community including investors, non-executive directors, advisory board members and corporations.
The VC already has similar satellite offices in San Francisco, Boston and Austin in the US.
Portugal Ventures was founded in 2012 with the merger of three government-backed firms; AICEP Capital Global, InovCapital and Turismo Capital. It currently has €450m of assets under management across 100 portfolio companies.
The VC has made a handful of investments in Portuguese start-ups in 2015 to date, including mobile games developer Bica Studios, collaborative document software developer Top Docs, digital marketing company FollowPrice and price comparison website PepFeed.
