Palamon and G Square invest in Grupo SAR
Mid-market growth capital house Palamon Capital Partners has led an investment into Spanish elderly care services provider Grupo SAR alongside healthcare investor G Square. The deal is estimated above the EUR200m mark. Grupo SAR, a major provider of residential and home care services to the elderly in Spain, runs 39 residential and day care facilities and a rapidly-growing home care division.
Like cash-rich, recession-resistant utilities (see above), healthcare is deemed a defensive sector owing to inelastic demand for its services. As such, it is favoured in today's difficult market. (See page 15).
