Vertis launches second fund
Italian venture capital firm Vertis has launched its second vehicle, Vertis Venture 2 Tecnologie.
Unlike its predecessor, which was limited to investments in southern Italy, the fund will seek opportunities across Italy.
The VC has also opened a new operational base in Milan and hired Mauro Odorico and Nicola Redi as investment director and key manager respectively. Both new hires join from TT Venture.
The investor has established a committee of venture experts, comprising professionals from various industries, to advise the fund throughout its life cycle.
The fund has a €60m target and will seek seed and growth opportunities in technology companies combining mechanical engineering and electronics, robotics and automation.
Vertis has also established partnerships with various universities and research institutes with expertise in its target sectors in order to boost dealflow.
