Wise divests Mar-Ter; generates 2.8x returns
Italian mid-market investor Wise Sgr, has divested its stake in logistics operator Mar-Ter Spedizioni, to Italian public investment firm, Mid Industry Capital Spa.
The sale of Mar-Ter represents an exit in the investor's 2006 fund, Wisequity II; generating a minimum return on investment of 2.8x for Wise's investors.
Wise acquired an 84% stake in Mar-Ter in May 2006. During the period of Wise's ownership, there was a stronger focus on increasing the company's profitability which saw the disposal of non-core, low margin activities and resulted in an increase in EBITDA of 45%.
