APCRI names new president
The Portuguese private equity and venture capital association APCRI has named its new president as Afonso Barros, executive manager of bank BPI's private equity arm Inter-Risco.
The new president comes at a time when the Portuguese market is experiencing a great many challenges, with an increasing number of operators and funds under management; an upcoming interest from foreign investors and entrepreneurs; and a greater recognition of venture capital.
During its presidency, Inter-Risco will develop efforts to represent and interact with relevant entities in the venture capital and private equity european markets to stimulate the venture capital and private equity activity in the country and to further promote the improvement of the Portuguese tax and legal framework surrounding the industry.
