Nazca to sell Acens
Nazca Capital has confirmed that it is preparing to sell Acens for up to €150m at an auction in mid-October.
The Spanish private equity firm has contracted investment bank Arcano to find a buyer willing to pay more than €130m for the internet domain business.
The amount would correspond to more than 3x money for Nazca, which acquired a 91% stake in the firm for €40m as part of an MBO in January 2007.
Acens is a national company which provides hosting services for small to medium-sized businesses. In 2007 it had a turnover of just €14.5m, which Nazca claimed it would increase by more than 20% per year.
It is understood that middle-market specialist Mercapital and alternative asset management giant Carlyle have expressed interest in a purchase, following their acquisition of Acens' main competitior, Arsys, in December 2007.
