
TravelC raises €1m from La Caixa, acquires Hotelerum
Caixa Capital Risc, the venture capital arm of Spanish bank La Caixa, has led a €1m funding round for tourism operator TravelCompositor (TravelC).
Following the transaction, TravelC acquired Hotelerum, a Spanish online room-booking platform established in 2010. As part of the deal, Hotelerum's existing investors, Venturecap and Inspirit, will join the shareholder base of the merged group.
According to a statement, the company aims to use the fresh capital to boost its product development and expand across Europe and the US.
Caixa invested in the business via its Caixa Capital TIC II fund.
Previous funding
In 2013, Hotelerum raised a $650,000 seed round from Caixa and US-based VC VentureCap.

Headquartered in Palma de Mallorca, the business was founded in 2014.
