
Caixa Capital Risc leads €1m round for Nautal
Caixa Capital Risc, the venture capital arm of Spanish investment firm La Caixa, has led a €1m funding round for online boat rental platform Nautal.
According to a statement, the company aims to use the fresh capital to boost its presence in the Spanish market, as well as to expand in the US.
Caixa Capital Risc reportedly provided a €600,000 equity ticket for the funding round, while the Spanish business angels provided €240,000 alongside European agency Enisa, which will provide the remaining capital via an undisclosed debt facility.
The funding round reportedly follows a €185,000 seed round raised by the company in 2014 and a further €226,000 round led by Caixa Capital Risc via its Caixa Capital Micro fund in 2015.

Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Barcelonaa, Nautal develops an online platform focusing on the boat rental market. Currently, the company claims to manage 9,000 boats, serving 10,000 clients.
According to the company's figures, the business generates 55% of its revenues in Spain, while 35% is generated in the European market and 10% from both the US and Australian markets.
The business expects to post a turnover of €3m in 2016.
