
Spark et al. lead $8.3m round for Verse
A venture capital syndicate comprising Spark Capital, Greycroft Partners and eVentures has led an $8.3m funding round for Spanish mobile payment platform developer Verse.
The transaction follows the previous $1.8m seed funding round led by US-based venture capital firm Draper Fisher Jurvetson.
The company will use the capital injection to grow its team and undertake international expansion.
Previous funding
In September 2015, Draper Fisher led a $1.8m seed round for the business alongside high-net-worth individuals and business angels, including José María Fuste, former director of innovation at Banco Santander.

Co-headquartered in Barcelona and San Francisco, Verse was founded in 2015 and currently employs 12 people. The company develops a digital payment platform for mobile devices based on blockchain technology.
