Alta Life Sciences leads €4.2m series-A for Peptomyc
Venture house Alta Life Sciences has led a €4.2m series-A round for Spanish cancer treatment developer Peptomyc via its life sciences vehicle, Alta Life Science Spain I.
The deal is the first investment for Alta, which led the funding round via Alta Life Sciences Spain I. Other backers included existing investor Healthequity, a Spanish seed investor, and several business angels, which took part in a seed round in 2016.
According to a statement, the company aims to use the fresh capital to boost its product development and validation, and bring it closer to the clinical application. Alta partner Montserrat Vendrell will sit on the company's board.
