Sherpa's Galloplast bolts on NCA
Spanish colourants and additives producer Galloplast, backed by private equity firm Sherpa Capital Gestión, has fully acquired Navarra de Concentrados y Aditivos (NCA).
Following the deal, NCA's founder, Pedro Hernández, will continue to head the business. NCA will be merged with the GP's portfolio company Galloplast-Vanoplast group, acquired in June 2016. At the time of the initial acquisition, the GP was planning to allocate a further €10m for additional bolt-ons.
The deal follows the GP's aim to create a pan-European platform in the additives and plastic colourants sector. Following the acquisition, the merged group expects to generate a combined turnover of €45m in 2018.
In 2015, Galloplast acquired French competitor Vanoplast and in September 2016 it started its activity in its first production plant outside Spain – in Benavente, near Lisbon. The move was done through a joint venture with local distributor Inventive Materials.
Previous funding
In June 2016, the GP acquired an 85% stake in Galloplast for €16m in an all-equity transaction. The company's founding Gali and Lloveras families retained a 15% stake. Following the acquisition, Sherpa's co-founding partner, Alfredo Bru, became CEO of Galloplast.
Company
Founded in 2003 and headquartered in Salinas de Pamplona, in the Spanish province of Navarra, NCA produces colourants and additives for plastic products.
