
Alven leads $10m round for Freeda Media
Alven Capital has led a $10m funding round for Italian startup Freeda Media, which produces content aimed at millennial women, distributed on social platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
Some angel investors also took part in the funding round, including Stefano Sala, the CEO of Publitalia '80 and a board member of Mediaset; Paloma Castro Martinez, managing partner at Darwin Associates; Khaled Helioui, who has previously invested in Deliveroo and Uber; Sebastian Picardo, vice-president and COO at Lane Crawford and an early investor in FarFetch and Business of Fashion; and Henri Moissinac, the former head of Facebook Mobile.
Freeda will use the fresh capital to bolster its internationalisation, starting with the launch of its Spanish operations, as well as helping produce new editorial initiatives.

Launched in 2017 and based in Milan, Freeda generates interactions across femal-focused media brands on social platforms. In its first year of activity, the startup has worked with international brands and companies across different sectors such as fashion, beauty and consumer goods.
