VCs inject $60m into extended series-C for TravelPerk
A consortium of backers has injected $60m into to TravelPerk, a Barcelona-based business travel booking platform, as part of its series-C financing round.
The series-C extension was raised from the same investors that participated in the first part of the round, announced in October 2018. At the time, Swedish venture capital firm Kinnevik led a $44m series-C funding round that saw participation from Partners of DST Global, Target Global, Felix Capital, Sunstone and LocalGlobe.
The investment will be used to further accelerate the company's product innovation (it expects to announce major product additions in the coming weeks and months). The fresh capital will also support the business in its European expansion.
In 2019, the business saw a 300% increase in turnover, and opened offices in London and Berlin, according to a statement.
TravelPerk has now raised nearly $134m in total funding.
