
Moira Capital invests €40m in GreenE
Spanish private equity firm Moira Capital Partners has acquired a 70% stake in waste treatment and renewable energy specialist GreenE via a €40m capital increase.
GreenE intends to use the fresh financing to further develop its advanced conversion technology and build 100 new production facilities in the next 10 years.
Moira typically invests equity tickets of €5-50m in Spanish companies operating in various sectors, with a special focus on innovation and business transformation. The firm has deployed around €150m in the last two years, including this last investment in GreenE.

Established in 2011 and headquartered in Elche, GreenE develops and applies advanced thermal conversion technology to treat waste and convert it into renewable energy.
It treats solid waste, including non-recyclable plastic; industrial waste, including end-of-life tyres; sewage sludge; and biomass to produce electrical and thermal energy, renewable gas, biofuel and methanol. The company's client base includes Spanish and international waste businesses such as Urbaser, FCC and Suez. GreenE expects to generate EBITDA of €6.5m from revenues of around €11m in 2019.
