Ambienta's Amutec acquires Mobert, creates In Pack Machinery
Amutec, a portfolio company of private equity firm Ambienta, has acquired Mobert, a manufacturer of machinery for the production of recycled and biodegradable plastic bags.
The companies will be merged in a new entity named In Pack Machinery, which will become an aggregation platform across the sustainable bags machinery segment.
Mobert's shareholders, Roberto Trezzi, Simona Trezzi and Maurizio Toniato, will stay on with the business as significant shareholders and managers.
The GP expects Mobert's product offering will complement and expand Amutec's production, especially in the waste, fruit and vegetable, food and pet food packaging, and industrial applications sectors.
Ambienta invested in Amutec, a manufacturer of machinery for the production of biodegradable and recycled bags, in August 2019. The GP deployed capital from its Ambienta third fund, which held a final close in May 2018, surpassing its €500m target and hitting its €635m hard-cap.
Subsequently, Amutec acquired Scae Europe in June 2020 to boost its expansion into new markets and enlarge its geographical reach. The acquisition of Mobert will double the size of the group.
